I'm Coming Home!

My time in Niger is finished!  I can't believe how quickly time went by.  I'm looking forward to heading home to see my friends and family.  I'm so thankful that I have good friends that haven't forgot about me.  And I'm excited to watch the Iowa vs. Iowa State game.

This morning I finished up the last of my close of service paper work and had a two hour meeting the the country director to discuss my time in Niger.  I feel like I have closure on my life here.  I will getting on the plane this evening. Please keep me in your thought while I travel.

Thank you again for taking the time to read my posts.  I will be deleting this site as soon as I get back to the States.

Sannu, kana lahiya, mata nigo, bani sameye. Thank you Elizabeth My name is Abdoulkadri, currently a student at IUPUI, and originally from Niger. I would like to express my gratitude to every Peace Corp Volunteer, especially the following two volunteers who have had a profound impact on my life. Miss Cleam sindown, and Miss Miscaffe. Both were PCV's in my country from 1986 -87 and 89.Thanks to their dedication to improving other people's life through education and selfless service. I was a junior high student when I met them and they taught me English language and mathematics. I started learning English from reading and writing mother and father. Without them, I would not be in a position to communicate with you today. All the PCV's are true heroes and deserve all respect for changing lives around the world. How wonderful this world would be if only 2 percent of college students can give up some of their time in order to change other's life by empowering them with knowledge? Lot of PCV’s have been delighted to learne Hausa and Zerma languages and better understand our Niger’s people culture and social attributes. We, as human being would not be of any help to each other if there’s no contact bridge and a means of communication. The PCV’s are serving as a bridge between my country and America. PCV's, keep up the good work and thank you for helping to make the world a better place. Your contribution to economic and social development around the world is remarkable. Because of those PCV's effort on myself, I decided to serve in the US military in order to help protect America against terror and spread democracy. I would not finish without expressing my sincere salutations to the Kennedy’s Family for continuing his great legacy. Americans must not forget this legendary leader’s words: “Ask not what your country can do for you, but what can you do for your country” Abdoul
